As a teenage, my fascination with the paranormal began a journey to learn everything about the unknown through books, movies and documentaries. Over the years, I attended night classes, gone to seminars, and join up with local ghost hunters in hopes of a career in pursuing the paranormal. In reality, one cannot make a living sneaking around in graveyards and abandon buildings at night to proving the existence of the supernatural. I am now employed in a trade, but still continued my interest in the paranormal by researching the subject over the past decade. The knowledge I gain is now shared on The Abnormal Realm.

Hanako-san Past The TP

One element I always enjoyed in researching about the paranormal was reading legends from ancient times to urban myths. I covered a vast amount over the years, skimming through tales of vampires, bizarre deaths, haunted houses along with the outlandish such as cursed underwear. However, when I believe there could be nothing more disturbing out there to learn, urban legends involving bathrooms comes around. Not even the toilet is spared from stories where one could encounter demons, ghosts, portals and even death. In this second installment of supernatural entities to beware of when going to the bathroom here is the Japanese urban tales of Toire no Hanako-san.

What’s Worst Than Cockroaches?

Every place in the world has its own legends and superstitions. In most folklore, there are beliefs about gods, demons, and spirits which haunts certain locations. Not even the bathroom is spared in having otherworldly beings inhabiting the place with unknown intentions.
