An excellent blog post. A really interesting analysis of how a (fairly silly) legend is actually known to have been invented but still people believe in it. It’s rather like worshipping Ronald McDonald. One similar tale I heard over here in England is the group of fairly middle-aged men who were spending all of their spare time restoring a WW2 bomber in San isolated hangar. They started discussing the idea that such an old combat aircraft really ought to have its own ghost, and duly invented one for it. They called it Philip and acted as if it was actually real. And guess what? Within a couple of weeks, Philip was there…strange bangings and hammerings, muffled footsteps, all you’d want in a real ghost.
Perhaps in some strange way, we have a lot more input into supernatural beings than we imagine. Thanks again for a very well produced post.

Thanks John. I agree with you that humans do add onto the paranormal especially in the stories.
Ben and Matt have some very interesting videos on their channel “the Stuff They Don’t Want You To Know”
